Tenterden Schools Trust is a mixed multi academy trust in mid-Kent that currently runs one large secondary, five primaries and three nurseries.
TST is looking for new Trustees who can use their skills and experience to help benefit over 2500 students within our schools. You will have leadership expertise and may be operating at Director level already. Either way, you will be aware of the 7 principles of public life and be able to join the Board of Directors as they provide strategic direction for our schools in Tenterden and the surrounding area. The Trust Board creates robust accountability, assurance and oversight of educational and financial performance and it is ambitious for all of its students. We are looking for candidates with a range of leadership expertise, especially in education, finance and the church or Christian ethos. You will also bring enthusiasm, curiosity and objectivity to the role in a drive to improve our organisation. All Trustees/Directors will sit on the Trust Board in order to set strategic direction, maintain financial probity and to hold the CEO to account.

This is an unpaid voluntary role and you would be expected to attend 6 Board meetings a year and to be part of one of our committees, Education (you could be a practising CEO or deputy CEO of a MAT), Finance (accountant or similar) and Church (someone who can support the Christian ethos of our Church schools).

Home Farm Children's Nursery - Early Years Practitioner (Level 3)

Full time – 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £23,503 per annum
Two shift system – 7.45am - 4.00pm / 10.00am - 6.15pm
Home Farm Nursery has an opportunity for a self-motivated and passionate Early Years Practitioner who enjoys working with children and is hard working with a sense of humour.
We pride ourselves on providing high quality care to children aged 9 months to 5 years. Candidates will need to hold a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years Qualification as well as having experience and relevant training working with early years.

Early Years Practitioner Apprentice
Fixed term contract depending on qualification level.
37 ½ hours per week

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to develop towards a qualification in Early Years Childcare while they earn.
The successful candidate will be able to show initiative and work well as part of the Home Farm Nursery Team. Working within a designated room and the wider nursery settings, you will have a flexible approach and a willingness to learn.
There will be a requirement to work effectively towards the qualifications associated to these apprenticeship opportunities as part of the terms of employment.
Salary: £12,480 per annum, however Apprentices will be entitled to the minimum wage appropriate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed the first year of their apprenticeship.

TST - Senior Finance Officer
Salary: NJC Scale 5, Points 12-17
£26,421 – £28,770
37 hours per week
We are looking for a confident and effective senior finance officer ready to make a positive impact in our Trust central team. The finance team is under an exciting stage of development and we are looking for someone who has a flexible and practical approach to change and who can be an important part of that evolution as we grow. You will already have excellent attention to detail, be adaptable and proactive and have great IT skills. The successful applicant will be highly numerate and able to process complex information; an understanding of balance sheets and financial reports would be beneficial. You will be able to act on your own initiative as well as be an important part of our team.
Experience of working in a secondary educational environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
The successful candidate will support the Chief Finance and Operations Officer (CFOO) by preparing for month end which will include the bank reconciliation and other finance control accounts. There will also be a requirement to assist the CFOO with the preparations for the internal and external auditors. They will be responsible for accurately processing financial transactions using the Trust accountancy software, ensuring that correct financial controls are followed. They will support the Finance Assistants with the processing of purchase orders and will work closely with the rest of the finance team to deliver outstanding service to all stakeholders.

Homewood School and Sixth Form Centre - Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Salary: NJC Scale 4/5 Points 7-17 £18,273 - £21,640 (pro rata from £24,294 - £28,770)
32.5 hours per week, term time only
Initial Fixed Term Contract for 1 academic year
The successful candidate will be part of our Learning Support team working with students who experience difficulties in accessing the curriculum.
The objective of this post is to provide support to targeted individual students, small groups and classes during core subject lessons. The needs of the students will vary; some will have special educational needs such as Dyslexia or ASD. The successful candidate will generally work with small groups of students, within the main classroom, to ensure students’ progress and to boost their confidence. The role will involve planning, preparing and delivering group work or team teaching with the main class teacher. The successful candidate will also be expected to deliver interventions to targeted students focusing on pre and post teaching of set texts, exam skills and vocabulary.
As with all HLTAs the post holder will progress students’ learning and with other professionals to support pupils’ social, emotional and physical wellbeing. It is necessary for the candidate to have qualifications in Maths/Numeracy or English/Literacy equivalent to at least NVQ Level 2. The post requires a good standard of education and an attitude which is positive and supportive towards young people.
