Homewood School and Sixth Form Centre - Teacher of Maths and English Key Stage 2/3

Required September/October 2022 to 20th February 2023

Are you a qualified teacher able to teach Key Stage 2/3 Maths and English in a Key Stage 3 context? Are you looking for a new challenge in a supportive and welcoming environment?

The successful candidate will teach maths and English to students with additional needs in supported mainstream classes within the SEND department. 

The successful candidate will have good knowledge and awareness of additional educational needs strategies and have an ability to differentiate work appropriately.  They will feel confident about teaching Maths and, English up to Key Stage 3.  We would welcome applications from teachers with either primary or secondary training and experience.

Homewood School and Sixth Form Centre - HLTA KS4 & KS5 English

Salary: NJC Scale 4/5 Points 7-17 pro rata to £15,360 to £18,723

32.5 hours per week, term time only

Initial Fixed term contract for one academic year

The successful candidates will be part of our Learning Support team working with students who experience difficulties in accessing the curriculum. 

The objective of both these posts is to provide support to targeted individual students, small groups and classes during Key Stage 4 and 5 GCSE English lessons.  The needs of the students will vary; some will have special educational needs such as Dyslexia or ASD.  Our HLTAs would generally work with small groups of students, within the main classroom, to ensure students’ progress and to boost their confidence. The role will involve planning, preparing and delivering group work or team teaching with the main class teacher.  The successful candidate will also be expected to deliver interventions to targeted students focusing on pre and post teaching of English set texts, exam skills and vocabulary.

As with all HLTAs the post holder will be expected to progress students’ learning and with other professionals to support pupils’ social, emotional and physical wellbeing.  It is necessary for the candidate to have qualifications in Maths/Numeracy or English/Literacy equivalent to at least NVQ Level 2.  This position would also suit you if your background is in primary teaching.  The post requires a good standard of education and an attitude which is positive and supportive towards young people.

Are you a Human Resources professional with generalist experience, looking for a fresh challenge and keen to develop your skills?

Homewood School - Co-ordinator of KS4 ICT and Computing

Are you an inventive and forward-thinking teacher excited about the opportunity to share your passion for ICT and Computing?  We are looking for a skilled and inspirational teacher looking for the next step in their career development.

The role will include development of the KS4 scheme of work in line with new examination criteria, mock examination preparation, exam entries and revision sessions, updating the student data spreadsheets alongside undertaking observations of KS4 lessons. Leading by example, you will provide motivation and inspiration to both staff and students. 

Working closely with the Principal Teacher ICT and Computing you will attend departmental, staff and training sessions and ensure all aspects of the departmental development plan are delivered.   The successful candidate will be a facilitator of people at all levels and will develop strategies and initiatives that have longevity, relevance and meaning throughout the whole school.
