TST is looking for new Trustees who can use their skills and experience to help benefit over 2500 students within our schools.  You will have leadership expertise and may be operating at Director level already.  Either way, you will be aware of the 7 principles of public life and be able to join the Board of Directors as they provide strategic direction for our schools in Tenterden and the surrounding area.  The Trust Board creates robust accountability, assurance and oversight of educational and financial performance and it is ambitious for all of its students.

We are looking for candidates with a range of leadership expertise and especially in finance, HR, change management, digital marketing and law.  You will also bring enthusiasm, curiosity and objectivity to the role in a drive to improve our organisation.

The vision of Tenterden Schools Trust lies within our desire to serve the local community, getting students ready for what life has to throw at them and to create smooth transitions between all phases of education.

We have an exciting Teaching Assistant opportunity available at St Michael’s Church of England Primary School; a small village school with a big heart.

We are looking to fill a one-year fixed term Teaching Assistant/Lunchtime Supervisor post with occasional Breakfast/After School Club cover, for 32.5 hours a week, term time only.   The position will require you to work either within a whole class, 1:1 or in small groups across both KS1 and KS2 classes.

Salary: NJC Scale 4/5 Points 7-17 pro rata to £16,806 to £20,169

The successful candidate will be part of our Learning Support team working with students who experience difficulties in accessing the curriculum. 

The objective of this post is to provide support to targeted individual students, small groups and classes during Key Stage 3 English lessons.  The needs of the students will vary; some will have special educational needs such as Dyslexia or ASD.  Our HLTAs would generally work with small groups of students, within the main classroom, to ensure students’ progress and to boost their confidence.  The role will involve planning, preparing and delivering group work or team teaching with the main class teacher.  The successful candidate will also be expected to deliver interventions to targeted students focusing on pre and post teaching of English set texts, exam skills and vocabulary.

As with all HLTAs the post holder will progress students’ learning with other professionals to support pupils’ social, emotional and physical wellbeing.  It is necessary for the candidate to have qualifications in Maths/Numeracy or English/Literacy equivalent to at least NVQ Level 2.  The post requires a good standard of education and an attitude which is positive and supportive towards young people.

Salary pro rata to £13,471 - £14,219 per annum

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dedicated person to work closely with students aged 11–19 years who have a range of learning difficulties and/or disabilities. The successful candidate will be ideally confident to support student learning experiences according to need; this involves working with the classroom teachers to help support specific students with reading, writing, verbal communication literacy and numeracy.

Salary: NJC Scale 3, Points 5-6, pro rata to £12,748 - £12,980

25 hours per week (mornings), term time only, plus 25 hours in the school holidays

We seek a highly motivated and hardworking individual to support the improvement of attendance for individual students across Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11. The successful candidate will be organised and will have strong levels of literacy and IT skills. They will be responsible for undertaking a series of tasks each day including the chasing, processing and coding of student absences, the oversight of registers to ensure timely and accurate completion and the preparation of data to enable absence messages to be sent home. You will work within a small team of staff responsible for attendance.

The successful candidate will have unlimited optimism, good communication skills, strong levels of literacy, good IT skills and a tenacity to succeed in driving attendance levels upwards in the school.

The post requires a good standard of education but more importantly an attitude which is positive and supportive towards young people and their families.
