We have an exciting Teaching Assistant opportunity available at St Michael’s Church of England Primary School; a small village school with a big heart.

 

We are looking to fill a one-year fixed term Teaching Assistant post with occasional Breakfast/After School Club cover, for 12.5 hours a week, term time only.   The position will require you to work 1:1 supporting a pupil in KS1, and occasionally supporting classes or small groups across both EYFS, KS1 and KS2 classes.

Rolvenden Primary is a small, rural school comprising of 4 mixed age classes which both nurture and foster independence and confidence. We currently have 86 pupils on roll serving the children of the village and beyond.

Main Purpose

The Lunchtime Play Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, welfare and good behaviour of pupils during the lunch break. This includes supervising children in the playground or dining hall, encouraging positive play and social interactions, helping to resolve minor issues and supporting a calm, friendly and inclusive environment across the school.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise pupils in the playground and other school areas during lunchtime under the direction of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Promote positive play and social interaction among pupils - including arranging of activities using resources provided.
  • Monitor pupil behaviour, intervening and resolving minor disputes or incidents calmly and fairly
  • Ensure pupils are safe, follow school rules and return to class promptly
  • after lunch
  • Encourage good table manners and support younger children with eating where necessary.
  • Report any concerns or accidents to senior staff following school procedures
  • Administer basic first aid (once trained)
  • Support the inclusion of all pupils, including those with additional needs
  • Work as part of a team to create a happy, respectful and secure lunchtime environment
  • Attend relevant training as required by the school.

The Sinden Theatre - Front of House Host

Initially Fixed Term from November 2025 to July 2026 

Do you want to play a key role in making The Sinden the venue of choice in this part of Kent? 

We require a confident, pro-active individual to manage the front of house experience for our clients and to support in taking The Sinden to the next stage of its development.  You will have excellent organisational skills and will work closely with the Director of Performing Arts to ensure the smooth running of the facility, both for clients who have booked the theatre as a venue and for patrons attending our wide-ranging shows.  You will work closely with companies to book music acts, plays and comedy shows which will appeal to our audiences.  You will be able to market events using social media and build working relationships with advertising agencies.  You will also need to maintain accurate financial records.

A flexible approach will be required to ensure that The Sinden events are adequately staffed and this will involve working evenings and weekends.

In return, you will enjoy a unique working environment in the heart of the Weald of Kent. There is an independent nursery based on the school site.
